Incorrect Check amounts
The State has begun the settlement process by issuing checks to several former/retired State employees. In some instances the dollar amount sent to the former State employee was for a lower amount than the settlement have entitle them to. The State took an initial stance that cashing the erroneous check would mean forfeiture of any additional money properly owed. The State has now conceded that cashing the check does not impact what has been awarded by the courts.
It is expected that current State employees will be receiving “offer” letters soon.
